Located in historic downtown St. Charles has been serving the needs of the community since 1885.  In 2010, we will celebrate our 125th year of providing exceptional service!

The SSM St. Joseph Health Center campus has grown structurally and technologically over the past 125 years to meet the needs of an ever-growing and changing population. Today, the 364-bed acute care hospital has more than 1,100 employees and excels in many areas. It is home to the SSM Heart Institute, SSM Center for Sleep Disorders, SSM Cancer Care and the SSM Vascular Institute and is a state-designated Level II Trauma Center, an accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI and an American Stroke Association Get With The GuidelinesSM – Stroke Center.

Recently added services: 

• Endoscopic Transthoracic Sympathectomy Clamping (ETS-C), a surgical technique, now is available for hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating
• Select Specialty Hospital has opened a 33-bed Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH), a “hospital within a hospital,” to care for the most critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
